The little things -10 things that make me smile this week
1. Enjoying a simple lunch and a little me time, I find it really grounding to just sit by yourself sometimes and just watch the world go by for a while.
2. Taking a cheeky peek through an alley window and finding something truly wonderful (the picture above was taken through a window of what turned out to be a small art gallery).
3. Standing at the harbour and feeling that first deep breath of fresh sea air fill your lungs, while the listening to the gentle sound of the sea lapping against the sides of a boat.
4. Hearing a Norwegian language teacher shouting "God helg!"(have a good weekend) to two pupils who were leaving her class. One girl whispered to the other "what did she say?"and the other replied "I think she said go to hell!"
5. Having a peaceful little stroll in the city and taking the time to appreciate the beautiful architecture and amazing sense of history. Sometimes it's nice just to have a wander, it's such a great way to get to know a city, don't you think?
6. Hearing the church bells ringing while walking through the square...there's something wonderfully romantic about that sound!
7. The pitter-patter of heavy raindrops on the window outside as I'm snuggled up cosily under a pile of warm duvets.
8. That treasured little moment while tucking my daughter into bed and reading her a bedtime story. She always so excited to hear the stories unfold and mummy's many funny voices. I wish I could bottle those precious little moments!
9. Warm winter hats - the most amazing things for hiding a multitude of bad hair days when dry shampoo just won't cut it!
10. ...and finally getting around to making a to-do list... it was on my to-do list!
